In early April of 2023, with his friend Dr. Joe Dituri, Parker University President Dr. William E. Morgan finished his 24+ hour underwater scuba adventure to the Marine Resources Development Foundation Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida.

During his time spent underwater, Dr. Morgan helped collect biometrics (EEG, diagnostic ultrasound, and spinal exam) and discussed options for future collaborations with Parker University and the Parker Performance Institute. Dr. Morgan returned to the surface as an aquanaut!

Benefits of Living Underwater

Researcher Dr. Dituri is currently attempting to live underwater for 100 days. After starting this challenging research and conservation project on March 1, 2023, Dr. Dituri will live underwater until June 9, 2023.

Known as “Project NEPTUNE 100,” his unique experiment combines the long-term study of the physiological and psychological effects of compression on the body. The uniqueness of the mission and its ideal location help create awareness of crucial marine research and the vital conservation of the ocean’s resources.

During Dr. Dituri’s 100-day stay, he will conduct daily experiments in human physiology and use innovative new technology to aid his research. You can learn more about his specific scientific experiments here!

Jules’ Undersea Lodge

What was formerly the LaChalupa habitat received a makeover in 1986 and became the Jules’ Undersea Lodge, the world’s only underwater hotel. The Marine Resources Development Foundation (MRDF) provided exclusive expertise in rehabilitating the habitat. Divers can spend the night at the facility that hosts research programs like NASA’s 30-day mission and missions with astronauts who are training.

Scientists, educational organizations, and certain nonprofit groups can request to visit Dr. Dituri or schedule an exclusive online chat. For more information about this unique underwater adventure, go to mrdf.org.

Dr. Dituri to Speak at Upcoming NeuroCon Event

Dr. Dituri will also be taking the stage at Parker Seminars’ annual NeuroCon event this July 28-29 on the Parker University campus. This two-day event on campus will be packed with expert teaching and discussion for doctors, assistants, students, and office staff! Sessions support research and application for treating neurological disorders. The event will strongly emphasize and take a deeper look at biohacking and how it impacts our world.
