Parker University’s Dr. Kenneth Thomas Serves as the First Chiropractor Appointed to the American Arthritis Foundation

The American Arthritis Foundation (AAF) is a nonprofit organization in which members dedicate themselves to advancing treatment for arthritic patients. The AAF includes dedicated individuals who lead chapters in their communities, and the foundation is primarily organized by volunteers who educate the public on arthritis prevention and treatments to reverse damages. The AAF advocates for patients and works with federal and state governments to improve access for patients suffering from this debilitating disease.

Arthritis does not go away. Therefore, patients constantly seek new ways to better live with this condition. Now, chiropractic can also play a significant role in providing those suffering from arthritis with a better quality of life!

For the first time in the AAF’s history, a chiropractor has been appointed to the board! Parker University is proud to announce that its very own Kenneth Thomas, DC, Senior Education Consultant for Admissions and Recruiting, has been appointed to the foundation as its first chiropractor in history.

Due to great recommendations from Parker University graduates, Dr. Thomas’s term began on January 1, 2024, and will continue for the next three years. His specific duties include serving on the board, setting the unique direction of the foundation, managing projects such as setting up chiropractic clinics that will treat arthritic patients, and much more. Now, arthritic patients will receive even better care instead of being siloed into one treatment regime.

Currently, the AAF gets thousands of monthly online hits from patients who are looking to obtain more information and treatment resources, including chiropractic. “The plan is to begin training chiropractic clinics to become AAF arthritis-sponsored clinics,” Dr. Thomas shares. “I am excited about integrating medicine and chiropractic care, serving patients, and providing treatment protocols that are the best for patients. Collaborative care is the way of the future! Seeing the AAF step out and do this is truly rewarding. I hope this relationship will flourish in the future and this collaboration will continue for all future generations of chiropractors!”

Parker University congratulates Dr. Thomas on this new appointment and is proud to recognize his outstanding accomplishments and innovative contributions to the healthcare industry.
