Parker Performance Institute Celebrates Prestigious Accolades Awarded for Design Excellence

The new Parker Performance Institute (PPI), an independent sports and rehabilitation clinic located at The Star in Frisco, Texas, is proud to announce that it has recently been recognized with two prestigious accolades for its design excellence.

On November 10, 2023, IIDA’s Texas Oklahoma Chapter recognized the creativity and innovation of the region’s best interior designers. Judges noted PPI for the Design Excellence Award in the “Healthcare Small” category. In addition, out of hundreds of submissions to the Dallas PaperCity Design Awards, PPI received an Honorable Mention in the “Commercial Design” category.

PPI’s professionals offer high-tech, customized physical and mental performance enhancement. The facility’s new human-centric design represents this commitment to innovation and cutting-edge healthcare.

Perkins&Will’s one-of-a-kind design celebrates the dynamism between user experiences, connecting an open, energized area of athleticism and a focused zone of treatment. A special congratulations goes out to the design team led by Vandana Nayak, Kevin Mereness, Lauren Mereness, and Brad Bailey.

Upon entry to PPI, visitors are met with a clear path to healing. The clarity of program organization articulates the two zones with an open circulation path highlighting pattern, rhythm, and movement within built elements, reflecting connectivity and motion of the human body at work. Between active areas and healing spaces, natural materials bridge the vigor of physical performance embodied by turf, exposed structure, and dark metal accents. PPI displays accent tones for soft, inviting patient rooms, and indirect lighting, optimizing visibility for clinicians.

At PPI, expertise meets cutting-edge technology in this customized space. PPI is a center of excellence in patient care and a beacon of design innovation that pushes boundaries and creates spaces to heal and inspire!
