Step 1: Apply to Parker University
Before beginning the Yoga Teacher Training program, you’ll first need to complete the Parker University admission process.
- You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission.
- Complete the online or print application and submit the $25 application fee.
Step 2: Submit Transcripts
You’ll need to provide your academic transcripts to verify your eligibility:
- If you have fewer than 12 college credit hours, submit your high school or GED transcript.
- If you have more than 12 college credit hours, request official transcripts from all higher education institutions where credits were earned.
- You can also complete a Transcript Authorization/Release Form available from the Admissions or Registrar’s Office to allow Parker to request transcripts for you.
The Registrar’s Office will evaluate your transcripts and send you an evaluation letter showing your compliance and/or any missing requirements.

Step 3: Acceptance and Deposit
Once you’ve been accepted:
- You’ll receive an official acceptance letter from Parker University.
- Submit your reservation deposit to secure your place in the program.
Physical Qualifications for Admission
The 200-Hour Yoga Teaching Certificate program requires certain physical abilities to ensure you can safely and effectively participate in training and instruction. You must be able to:
- Maintain sufficient coordination and use of all limbs to perform yoga positions.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity to participate safely in all hands-on training activities.
- Have the ability to stand and move to perform and demonstrate poses.
- Hear and see adequately (with assistance if needed) to conduct safe, supervised yoga instruction.
