It is a profession’s responsibility to know the full spectrum of outcomes from their treatment visits, so patients/parents can make an informed decision about their options for care.
In this first practice-based surveillance study of adverse events within the chiropractic profession for children, new or worsening symptoms up to 7 days following chiropractic treatment was reported in only 6.2% of patient visits with the most common symptoms being worsening pain/discomfort and irritability/crying.
This mixed-method analysis demonstrates the power of collaboration!
