Kurt Adams, DC

Dr. Kurt Adams (also a proud parent of a current Parker student) was recognized by his local newspaper The Kitsap Sun as the recipient of The Healthy Tomorrow Award. Kurt Adams, DC celebrates 25 years of chiropractic service in Silverdale, WA. The local publication, Central Kitsap Reporter, highlights his journey as a chiropractor and business owner in Silverdale


Phyllis Books, DC

Phyllis Books, DC released a new book, Reversing Dyslexia (Square One), where she lays the groundwork for significant improvements made by those who have this learning disorder, stressing the importance of nutrition, exercise, play and music. Ken Thomas, DC has been appointed to the Council on Chiropractic Education. He will serve a three year term as councilor for Parker University.


Clark Byroad, DC and wife Brenda Byroad, DC ’89 have practiced in Lewisville for 22 years and recently established the Byroad Chiropractic Student Scholarship to support Parker students and continue building successful chiropractors. This past December, they presented the most recent scholarship to Tri-2 student and Lewisville resident Gavin Wolff. This awarded scholarship was highlighted in the local Lewisville Leader newspaper. Kevin Kanz, DC was recognized in March at the ACA House of Delegates meeting in Washington DC with the Alternate Delegate of the Year Award. ACA’s awards are given to outstanding volunteer members and other individuals for their contributions to advancing the chiropractic profession. Dr. Kanz was also the 2010 recipient of the Parker Alumni Association Alumni of the Year. He is the former President of the Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA).

Wayne Carter, DC is still practicing after 25 years in Pueblo, CO. He recently shared in his class note, “not as easy as it used to be but still going strong.”  He can be reached through his As of 2/13

Michael Hall, DC and wife Cara Hall, DC, ‘04 welcomed their fifth child—a beautiful daughter, Danielle Taylor Hall on July 26, 2011.


Francesco Caputo, DC celebrates the release of his new children’s book. Diana the Organic Banana was written to inspire both children and adults to seek out positive characters to represent health. This fun and educational book can be purchased at As of 4/12

Carl Cosgrove, DC is president of LLC, an online provider of continuing education courses for chiropractors. Dr. Cosgrove started as an alternative to the often dull content found on other CE sites. “It takes about 60 hours for us to develop each hour-long course. We take presentations from qualified instructors, complete with narration, and create Flash movies that provide a user experience that is informative and enjoyable.” The courses are accepted by all states that allow online courses toward license renewal.


Shannon (Walsh) Cutting, DC has accepted a position at Colgate University in New York as the new diving coach. Over the years she has worked a variety of positions in the health industry. For 10 years she worked in large corporate fitness centers and has maintained a private practice around the country. Dr. Cutting has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Guam, yoga instructor for the military, and cross country coach for a high school in Hawaii. Since November 2008 she has been the head swim coach for the Hickam Hurricanes in Hawaii.

Michael J Norman, DC

Dr. Frank Means was named Best Chiropractor in Navarro County for the 11th straight year (as of 2014). Dr. Means practices in Corsicana, TX at Corsicana Chiropractic. Way to make Parker proud, Dr. Means!

Bruce Forciea, DC

Bruce Forciea, DC has written Unlocking the Healing Code, a book that presents the seven keys to unlimited healing power. In his book, Forciea uses these seven factors to bridge the gap between traditional and alternative healthcare. In his letter to Dr. Fabrizio Mancini ’90, president of Parker, Forciea says he has “written a book that presents a new paradigm for healing by explaining healing in terms of information flow. Dr. Scott Foote recently held the grand opening of his chiropractic clinic, Nashville Spine and Sport Chiropractic Center in August 2014. It’s been a long and fulfilling journey toward owning his own chiropractic clinic, and he couldn’t have done it without Parker University. Dr. Foote’s specialty is with sports chiropractic, and he works commonly with athletes. You can find him working with high profile events every once in awhile, including the Vanderbilt Football Team and the Nashville Marathon.
