The Abroad Jamaica experience encompasses the clinical experience in an abroad practice in Kingston, Jamaica during the intern’s 10th trimester. In this rotation, interns will have the opportunity to provide chiropractic care for world class athletes and general chiropractic patients in private practices. Students will also utilize their skills in multiple sports oriented venues such as track meets and sports tournaments and will bring portable tables to treat athletes at various sporting events. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to learn about the Jamaican culture and, in turn, learn to communicate with people of other cultures during their professional life.

Dr. Gardner, an Extension Faculty member of Parker University, is a 2009 Parker alumnus, recipient of the International Alumni of the Year award in 2012, Neurology Diplomate, former Jamaican Olympian, and is a team chiropractor for the Jamaican Olympic Team. Tri 10 interns will be treating general chiropractic patients along with athletes and will participate in various sporting events such as track meets and soccer tournaments. Additionally, Dr. Gardner has two very active radio shows in the community that interns participate in discussing frequent health talks.
