About this series of classes:
Well-known for his work in myofascial therapy, Dr. Jeff Rockwell has put together an extensive study behind Myofascial Release and specific problem solving solutions using Myofascial Release. Each module will focus on a different area of chronic problems and treatments for that area. This leading-edge series may be taken in full or as stand-alone modules as your practice and your clientele’s issues dictate.
Myofascial therapy for chronic shoulder problems
This would include an overview of the nature of myofascial pain and dysfunction, as well as specific treatments for rotator cuff injuries, chronic scar tissue related to acromio-clavicular separations, impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder syndrome, and balancing the scapula on the rib cage for improved shoulder function.
Myofascial therapy for chronic pelvic and lower extremity problems
This would include an overview of the nature of myofascial pain and dysfunction as well as the treatment of postural problems related to the pelvis and lower extremities, such as anterior rotation of the pelvis, functional leg length inequality, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, orthopedic conditions of the knee, chronic sprained ankles, and functional problems of the arches of the feet.
Myofascial therapy for chronic upper extremity problems
This would include an overview of the nature of myofascial pain and dysfunction as well as treatment of postural problems of the upper extremities and chest, such as medial rotation of the shoulders, protraction or retraction of the shoulders, winged scapulae, carpal tunnel syndrome, pronator teres syndrome, and tennis elbow and golfers elbow.
Myofascial therapy for chronic spinal pain
This would include an overview of the nature of myofascial pain and dysfunction as well as specific treatments for whiplash injuries, kyphosis of the thoracic spine, sway back of the lumbar spine, scoliosis, and disc pain.
An introduction to holistic cranial therapy
This would include an overview of the nature of myofascial pain and dysfunction as well as assessment and treatment of cranial-sacral dysfunction from a holistic perspective. This perspective includes a biomechanical, as well as a biodynamic and bioenergetic, approach to cranial work, and the treatment of common myofascial trigger points related to the cranial region. Conditions such as headaches and recovery from whiplash would be included.
