Boundaries: Confidentiality (HIPAA Update) and Sexual Misconduct (DC CE) 8:30am-10:30am
Jesse Green, JD Bio Icon
Communicating and following simple boundaries can build the doctor-patient relationship, solidify the patient’s trust of their chiropractor, and protect the chiropractor from claims of misconduct. With potential claims concerning breaches of confidentiality and sexual misconduct, an ounce of prevention is truly worth more than a pound of cure. Although most doctors have learned to comply with HIPAA since the regulations first became effective in 2003, the HITECH Act signed in 2009 included some changes to HIPAA. The government is revising the HIPAA regulations to reflect those changes. This class reinforces the attendees’ knowledge of the requirements from the 2003 HIPAA regulations and provides recommendations to comply with the new requirements. Few claims are more frightening than a claim of sexual misconduct. By remembering to communicate and follow some common-sense boundaries, chiropractors should prevent that kind of claim from ever being made. Those boundaries should also help any accused chiropractor respond more effectively to any claims.

We Were Right All Along: Removing the Seven Causes of Interference Gets & Keeps Us Well (DC CE)

DD Palmer was correct about interference being the cause of ill-health. In the 120 years since chiropractic’s inception, science and clinical research have identified multiple interferences in the body that disrupt the body’s holism thereby disabling its ability to fully get and stay well. Restoring holism by removing interference is the key link to restoring health and vitality. Ironically, interference is most often silent and at distant locations from the patient’s chief complaints. Unless it’s removed and holism restored, the person won’t experience optimal health. This program shows you where the silent interferences are and methods to remove them to restore optimal health.
