Regina Benjamin, former
Surgeon General of the United States, currently practices as a physician in
rural Alabama. As founder and CEO of the Bayou La Batre Rural Health Clinic,
Dr. Regina Benjamin makes a difference in the lives of many residents of a
small fishing village on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, where roughly 80% of her
