  • Parker University Honors its Veterans

    Parker University recently held its annual celebration of United States veterans and active military members. Guest speaker Admiral Patrick Walsh, former Navy aviator and current Parker Board of Trustees member, spoke to members of the Parker Military Association, which consists of student, faculty, and staff veterans.  

    Parker University Competes in Annual Chiro Games

    The Parker University Patriots came in second place at the 21st Annual Chiro Games, an athletic competition between the nation's chiropractic schools held in Cocoa Beach, Florida. The Patriots were narrowly beaten by Georgia's Life University in the 13 chiropractic school event.

    Parker University Vice President of Academics Appointed to Council on Chiropractic Education

    The Council on Chiropractic Education, the accrediting agency for U.S. chiropractic institutions, recently elected Parker University’s vice president of academics, Dr. Kenneth Thomas to its council. He will serve a three year term as councilor for Parker University, a CCE-accredited chiropractic institution.

    Parker University Announces Two Finalists In Presidential Search

    The presidential search committee, headed by Dr. Wright L. Lassiter, Jr., has recommended two finalists in the search for the presidency of Parker University. The new president will replace Dr. Fabrizio Mancini who has retired after serving as president for just under fourteen years.

    Parker University Chiropractic Wellness Clinics Provides Care to Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walkers

    For the eighth consecutive year, Parker University Chiropractic Wellness Clinics served as the official chiropractic partner for Susan G. Komen Dallas/Fort Worth 3-Day for the Cure. The walk, which covers 60 miles in three days, began Friday, November 2, as participants walked to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research and community programs that support education, screening, and treatment.

    Parker University Hosts Fitness Competition

    Parker University recently hosted its second annual Mr. and Ms. Parker Fitness Competition. The competition celebrates the health and physical fitness of Parker students. Tri 7 student Evelyn Aragon won for the women, and Tri 3 student Nathan Gomez won for the men. The two winners received $300 each.

    Parker Alumni Association Elects Executive Committee

    The Parker Alumni Association re-elected Dr. Vincent Scheffler, ’07, and Dr. Steven Brooks, ’99 to serve on its executive committee. They also selected a new member to join the executive committee as treasurer, Dr. Carol Watkins, ’11.

    Parker University Holds Homecoming Event Celebrating 30 Years

    Parker University held Parker Homecoming 2012 on its campus in Dallas, Texas, on October 26 – 28. Doctors of chiropractic and massage therapists attended customized education tracks while earning continuing education credits.

    Parker University Student Body Present Awards

    At a recent assembly, the Parker University Student Senate presented four individuals with awards for their commitment to the university and chiropractic. The awards, called the Who’s Who of Parker, were given to a faculty member, a clinic faculty member, a staff member, and a student.

    Parker Alumni Association to Recognize Chiropractic Leaders

    The Parker Alumni Association will present their annual awards at a luncheon held during the Parker Homecoming celebration on Friday, October 26. Awards will be presented to four noteworthy individuals who have impacted the chiropractic profession including: Dr. Rose Lepien,’91, Dr. James DeShazo,’95, Dr. Neil Gardner, ’09, and Dr. Jose Negron,’11.
